Uploading Photos When you register at ReExchange a special folder will be created for you to easily upload photos. If you are having problems with this photo process, there could be a number of reasons: 1. What type of image file are you uploading? There are several different ways to save photos from your computer. Unfortunately, not all of them can be seen on all computers. The most universal way to save your photos is in the .gif (GIFF) or .jpg (JPEG) format. Note: Avoid using Spaces in the Image name. Mac users remember to add the "type" of format to your pictures. ex. (.jpg) or (.gif) 2. What is the size of the photo you are uploading? Since ReExchange is allowing a special folder for each of our users, you can imagine how much space this could take up without restrictions! If your photo is over 200k (which would be very large disk space), it will not upload. To decrease your file size, you may try to decrease the actual picture size (pixels or inches), take your resolution down to 72 DPI, or automatically condense it by saving it as a .gif image. If you continue to have problems, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you. 3. Your browser may not support this "easy upload" process. You may need to upgrade. For example, Internet Explorer is now up to version 5.0. To check which version you might have, go to your browser's help menu, and click "About." This will tell you which version you have. If you have Internet Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 3.0, an upgrade may be necessary for you to use ReExchange's upload process. Upgrading is free, and the most current versions can be downloaded at www.microsoft.com (for Internet Explorer) or www.netscape.com (for Netscape Navigator). If you have your own webspace, there are still ways you can upload photos to ReExchange. Contact us if you do not wish to upgrade your browser and we can go over other options. |
